Presentation

Dean McDowell was born, lives and works in Northern Ireland. Graduating with honours in graphic design, he worked within the graphics industry for several years before moving into field of fine art.

Through this medium he is intrinsically drawn to the beauty within sorrow, this can be seen in his surreal portrait of people. Using traditional painting techniques, coupled with his knowledge of illustration he plays with the atmosphere of each painting, never deciding what the mood will be until the final brush stroke.
